Industrial Steel Structure Surface Restoration & Fire Protection
A large commercial steel structure was carefully renewed for a durable, fire-protected finish. Birmingham Sandblasting combined controlled surface preparation with a specialist intumescent coating system, improving the appearance of the steelwork while preparing it for long-term protection in a demanding working environment.

What was needed
How the surface was prepared.
The project covered extensive exposed structural steel, including high-level members within the warehouse structure. Existing rust, mill scale, contaminants and tired surface coatings were gently removed using controlled blasting rather than unnecessarily aggressive treatment. The prepared steel was then coated with an intumescent fire-protection system and finished with a protective topcoat, with elevated work completed from suitable access platforms and the surrounding work area managed carefully.
