Preparation
Delicate latches, hinge pins and bronze bearings are masked or isolated. On-site work includes ground sheets and magnetic recovery of metallic abrasive.
Aftercare
Surfaces are blown down clean. Immediate zinc-rich priming is strongly recommended to protect fresh reactive metal from atmospheric moisture.

Questions to settle before you decide.
Can gates be blasted in situ or do they need to be taken down?
Where gates can be lifted off hinge pins, off-site or contained yard blasting is often fastest. For fixed railings, boundary barriers and security gates, on-site blasting with full screening and protection is provided.
How soon must bare metal be primed after blasting?
Bare steel begins oxidising rapidly in damp UK air. We recommend applying a high-solids zinc phosphate or epoxy primer on the same day as blasting.
