Birmingham Sandblasting carefully renewed a large fabricated steel chimney, improving its appearance and preparing it for a durable protective finish. Controlled surface cleaning lifted contamination and weathered residue from the chimney body, seams, brackets and fittings while retaining the definition of the fabricated details.

What was needed
The work covered the accessible chimney shell, welded seams, support brackets and associated fabricated fittings. Surfaces were assessed and cleaned progressively, with attention to consistent coverage around joints and detailed components. The finished steel was left clean, even and ready for the client’s specified coating system, helping the next protective stage bond to a sound substrate.
