Victorian Kitchen Fireplace Brick Restoration

A Victorian kitchen fireplace was carefully brought back to life by removing its tired painted finish and revealing the warm character of the original brick surround. Birmingham Sandblasting focused on controlled, gentle surface restoration, leaving the wood-burning stove installation in place while giving the room a cleaner, more authentic focal point.

What was needed

How the surface was prepared.

Protect the existing stove and adjacent kitchen finishes, then lift the accumulated white paint from the fireplace surround using a carefully controlled low-impact abrasive-cleaning approach. Work evenly across the brick face and joints to uncover the natural red brick without unnecessarily eroding the masonry, followed by detail cleaning and a final inspection of the restored surround.
