A careful restoration of a Victorian courtyard, bringing its original red brickwork back into view beneath layers of pale masonry paint. Birmingham Sandblasting used a controlled, low-impact cleaning approach to refresh the walls while retaining the character of the decorative arches and period detailing.

What was needed
Assess the painted Victorian brick surfaces and identify fragile joints, edges and decorative features; protect adjoining areas; progressively remove the cream and white coatings with carefully selected media and pressure; clean the exposed brick evenly and leave the courtyard ready for any follow-on pointing or protection work.
