A characterful bathroom feature was brought back to life by carefully revealing the original Victorian brickwork behind a white painted finish. Gentle surface restoration uncovered the masonry's warm natural tones and decorative diamond pattern, creating a considered industrial-style backdrop that complements the contemporary bathroom without compromising the historic character of the wall.

What was needed
Prepare and protect the bathroom and adjacent finishes, assess the painted Victorian brickwork, and use a controlled low-impact cleaning approach to lift the white coating and embedded surface grime. Work progressively across the wall to retain the brick faces, joints and diamond detailing, then complete a careful clean-down so the newly exposed masonry is ready to sit alongside the modern fixtures.
