A tired, heavily finished orangery was carefully refreshed to bring back the warmth and definition of its timber frame and glazed doors. Low-impact soda blasting lifted weathered coating and surface grime while protecting the surrounding glass and brickwork, leaving the garden room brighter, cleaner and ready for its contemporary finish.

What was needed
How the surface was prepared.
We protected the glazing, adjacent brickwork and surrounding patio before testing the gentlest effective soda-blasting approach on the timber. The team then worked across the orangery frame, mullions, door leaves and window surrounds to remove the aged finish and accumulated dirt without aggressively eroding the underlying surface. Final cleaning and inspection revealed an even, natural-looking timber surface throughout, with the glass and masonry left neat and undamaged.
