A sensitive timber restoration within a 500-year-old property, where painted-black ceiling beams were carefully cleaned to bring back their natural character. The finished spaces feel lighter and more authentic while retaining the age, grain and architectural detail that make the building special.

What was needed
We prepared and gently cleaned the property's exposed timber beams, working methodically around the historic interior and adjoining finishes. The aim was to lift the heavy black coating and accumulated surface grime without eroding the underlying oak, then leave the restored timber ready for the owner's chosen finishing treatment.
