A traditional oak porch frame on a period brick farmhouse was carefully refreshed to bring back the character of its exposed timber. A controlled, gentle surface-restoration process lifted weathering, algae staining and ingrained dirt from the beams, posts and decorative gable details, revealing a brighter natural oak appearance while respecting the existing grain and architectural detail.

How the surface was prepared.
The work covered the oak porch frame, including the main beams, vertical posts and decorative gable timberwork. The surrounding brick farmhouse was treated as a protected adjacent surface, while the timber was cleaned progressively rather than aggressively so that accumulated organic staining and surface grime could be removed without making the restoration look harsh or over-processed. The cleaned oak was left with a clear, even surface ready for the client’s chosen finishing treatment.
